Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
